rain again
and the adoptive cat
was outside
in the rain by mistake
I have picked him up
to cuddle him dry
in an old orange baby blanket
left lying in the kitchen
for some reason or other
from another day
I am holding him
like a baby because
that is all I know
he settles back in my arms
looks at the ceiling
like this is all new
