This is War – Firth of Forth 1942
They have gone downstairs for dinner.
She peels tiny strips of wallpaper.
Returning they are not pleased.
Tomorrow he must board a waiting troopship,
cannot tell his wife where to.
This is war.
On the train,
her mother cries silent tears
but the child is happy.
